Posted July 22, 2020 08:16:52 Twitter is shutting down its app for its Twitter account and for its Web and Instagram accounts, the social media giant said on Monday.
Users who had been logging in to the accounts using the Twitter login page could not log in to Instagram or Twitter.
The Twitter account that allows people to share their Twitter updates with their followers and followers of other people could not be accessed.
The company did not provide an explanation for the closure of the accounts, which are operated by two different companies.
Twitter said it was monitoring the situation closely and was taking steps to restore its functionality, including restoring the ability to send messages and photos to Twitter users.
Instagram, which was launched in 2012, has more than 100 million monthly active users.
It has grown into a popular platform for people to create and share photos, videos and other multimedia content.
The Instagram app for iPhone and Android was shut down for a few days in June, but the service was restored to normal on Aug. 2.
Twitter, however, suspended the service in July.
